The Pryde is the first LGBTQIA+-affirming, income-restricted senior housing development in New England. It opened to residents in June 2024 in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, in the converted William Barton Rogers School building, and is run by the nonprofit LGBTQ Senior Housing, Inc.
The organization's aim is straightforward: welcoming, safe and affordable housing for low-income LGBTQIA+ elders, alongside a community center that serves older adults across Greater Boston rather than only the building's own residents.
