About Chosen Years
Everyone deserves to age as themselves, surrounded by people who respect who they are and who they love. Chosen Years helps LGBTQIA+ older adults, families and chosen family find housing, care and support they can trust.
Why we exist
Too many LGBTQIA+ elders fear going back into the closet to feel safe in later life. Finding genuinely affirming senior living or care can be confusing, and a rainbow in a brochure isn't evidence. We built Chosen Years so that inclusion is something you can actually see, compare and verify.
What we do
We combine two things: a searchable national directory of senior living, care providers and aging professionals, and a plain-language editorial guide to the decisions around retirement, relocation, care and housing. Every listing shows the documented evidence behind it, a source and a reviewed date, so you can judge for yourself.
Our trust promise
A paid listing plan never buys or influences an evidence label. Free listings show exactly the same evidence as paid ones. We separate what a provider pays for (visibility and profile features) from what the evidence shows (documented inclusion). And when we don't have evidence, we say so.
